Your value is in the sophistication you hide behind your simplicity. Will straight lines or colors clutter up your UI? Fuck 'em. Don't mess that up by making it too complicated. Any idiot can go to your site, and start using it right away. One final note, You've got something great here. The one issue that I ran into was that the duplicate page button stopped working, and I had to continue on the keyboard. I didn't have many issues, and I'm sure not too many other people did, but with stuff this complex, it can't hurt to test. Test in every browser you can get on your computer. I'm not sure if this was on your agenda, but I'm sure plenty of people would appreciate it. Make sure the line tool creates lots of the little segments. If you create a line tool that just makes one giant line, people may get upset. Be careful, though, I've seen programs and whatnot with similar erase tools to yours. I think a line tool would be a good idea. I suck at drawing straight lines with a mouse. ![]() It is somewhat difficult to make a good looping animation if you can't see what's on the first frame from the last frame, or what's on the last frame from the first frame. If you can't make native copy-paste to work, you should implement your own.I would also suggest putting information about the product on the front page. It's great to feature user content, but moderate it first. I didn't view every animation, so I don't know how many others contain inappropriate content. In a quick scan you find 2 penises and a pair of boobs. I would really not recommend blindly featuring user content on the front page. It's just a thought based on personal preference so ignore this if you don't like it. In terms of sharing, I like the really short urls you have, but I also really like verbose urls, which include the title, or something like that.I would bet you get about 70% of your traffic eventually making their way to the download page. As raddat said, you can put ads on the download page, which would help balance everything out. There should definitely be a way to export animations. People not only like to share what they have online, but to keep a copy of it.Unlike most other things I test or critique for people, this was quite a lot of fun. I don't want to spam /r/web_design or /r/animation, so if you'd like to follow the development/report bugs/suggest features/share flipbooks, I've created /r/thumbcinema and thumbcine_ma and 87 comments Once I'm back I want to get stuck in and build some more features based on some of the things suggested. Hopefully I can knock this all out by the end of the week, because I'm off on holidays for two weeks after that. I don't plan on blocking adult content, but I want to include a voluntary+community NSFW tag so that at least the front-page is child/work friendly. I didn't realise I was so naive, but I didn't see this coming. If you see your flipbook under this account, let me know and I'll update it to be yours. I'm manually publishing them under user "anon" for now. If this happened to you, don't worry, your flipbook was saved, but unpublished. ![]()
